Special Educator
Why do I teach?
My calling:
Teaching children with diverse learning needs is not just my career—it’s my calling. My journey in Special Education includes seven years of dedicated work as a Braille Transcriber for visually impaired students, fostering their independence and access to education. This passion for inclusive education has taken me from classrooms in the United States to communities in Africa, Mexico, and foster homes across the country. Each experience has deepened my understanding of resilience and the transformative power of compassionate, inclusive education in shaping a child’s future.
Students Teach Me Every Day
As a TK/Kindergarten Special Education Teacher, I am continually inspired by the courage, curiosity, and joy my students bring every day. I believe that every child, regardless of background or ability, deserves an education that meets them where they are, respects their unique strengths, and nurtures their potential. Creating a safe, inclusive space where each child feels valued, supported, and capable of growth is at the heart of my work. By teaching, I aim to foster a love for learning, build confidence, and make a positive, lasting difference in my students' lives.

Empowering children with knowledge and skills is at the heart of what I do. I understand that every child is unique, and I celebrate those differences by tailoring my approach to meet individual needs. Join me in shaping a brighter future for our young learners.
I’ve created a slideshow showcasing my journey from small-town Missouri to California. I found my love and passion for helping children with special needs. I incorporate classroom activities and collaborative projects. My most cherished memories of teaching are inviting the children into a dynamic, joyful learning environment, which I strive to create daily.
